MEM31419 Certificate III in Engineering - Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic

This qualification defines the skills and knowledge required of an engineering tradesperson - mechanical specialising in diesel fitting and plant mechanics within metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries.

Course information

The skills associated with this qualification are intended to apply to a wide range of trade work including manufacturing, assembly and commissioning of mobile and stationary plant, servicing, diagnosis and rectification of faults, condition monitoring, and preventative maintenance.

This qualification is designed to provide an industry recognised skills profile related to trade work as a fixed and/or mobile plant mechanic.

Assessment of some units of competency must, where indicated, include evidence of the candidate’s performance in a functioning workplace where there is a sufficient range of appropriate tasks and materials to cover the scope of application of those units.

Successful completion of the course will result in the issuance of a Certificate of Qualification and a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for MEM31419 Certificate III in Engineering – Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic.

There is no licensed outcome for this course.

No prerequisites

Participants must be employed and registered under a training contract as an apprentice. Tec-NQ conducts a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment as part of its enrolment process.

Eligible apprentices who meet the Queensland state funding requirements will be charged a set fee of $1.60*/nominal hour. Certified training is GST free.

Nominal hours for each unit of competency are provided in the training plan.

Tec-NQ charges all students a utility levy of $35.00 per year.

Fees are set by the Queensland Government department that is responsible for training. Fees are subject to change over the course of an apprenticeship.
