Best of both worlds

Enrolling with Tec-NQ will give you the best of both worlds. We provide traditional school outcomes, vocational training and work placement support to guide our students through school. If the student successfully attains an apprenticeship, we then continue their training post-school via our registered training organisation (RTO).

We do this through our strong industry and community networks and delivery of quality face-to-face vocational training.

At Tec-NQ, the focus on career readiness starts the moment they walk onto campus. Just like on a worksite, respect is earned at Tec-NQ. Students learn to take responsibility for their own learning in a work-based training environment.

Year 10 Tec-PREP

Not sure which industry pathway is right for you? You’re not alone. We know this can be an overwhelming time which is why our year 10 Tec-Prep students ‘try every trade’. In Year 10, students complete core subjects aligning to the Australian curriculum. These subjects are taught in relation to industrial applications, workplace practices and life skills.

Did you know that approximately one third of students end up changing their original trade preference as a result? At Tec-NQ, we want you to make an informed decision about the pre-apprenticeship qualification you pursue, which is why it’s important that you’re confident in your choices.

Years 11 and 12

Years 11 and 12 are trade specific. This means students undertake nationally recognised pre-apprenticeship qualifications whilst completing their academic studies which are required to attain their QCE. With the support of our industry team, work placement is introduced which provides students the opportunity to gain experience in industrial workplaces.
